Thomas « Toums » Gosset is a young French photographer based in Bordeaux. Before his 2009 exhibition at the Art Basel Miami Beach, he had already left his mark on the live music scene as the official photographer for major European festivals (Hellfest and Garorock).

Recently, he decided to concentrate on fellow young artists, musicians, party-goers, and friends, all featured in the book « Think Dirty, Be Naughty, Feel Happy », (published in February 2010).

Raw, wild and instinctive, Thomas « Toums » Gosset has the eye of an animal and the technique of a sociologist. Not an observer but a true participant of what he witnesses: a disillusioned generation hiding their fears and loneliness behind unending parties, eccentric clothes and drugged nights. « Madness rather than disenchantment » is Toums’ motto.

The violence shown in « Think Dirty, Be Naughty, Feel Happy » does not come from the individual situations of the models but from the accumulation of surrealistic moments caught on film. Though, looking carefully at a single photograph, one will either reject the aggressive feelings they get, or fully embrace the highly graphic universe the photographer builds around the subjects.
